Imlil and the Toubkal foothills
Imlil is the trailhead village for Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak, an hour and a half from Marrakech at 1 740 m. The day trip is a guided walk through walnut terraces and Berber hamlets — no summit attempt, no technical ground. About nine hours, from €25 per person.
The walk
Two to three hours at an easy pace, on mule tracks between villages, with the Toubkal massif above you. Lunch is in a village house or a small guesthouse terrace.
This is not a climb. If you want the summit, that is a two- or three-day trek with a mountain guide — ask us and we will arrange it separately.

Can you climb Toubkal in a day from Marrakech?
No. The summit needs two days minimum with a night at the refuge, and a certified mountain guide. The day trip goes to Imlil and the surrounding villages.
How hard is the Imlil walk?
Easy to moderate — a few hours on uneven mule tracks with some climbing. Walking shoes are enough.
